Kevin Hassett is an experienced professional in the field of communications who is passionate about the internet, sports, technology and travel. Kevin’s background includes receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in International Business. He is part-entrepreneur – owning his own freelance, consulting and internet marketing company – and has over seven years of experience as an athletic communications professional. Throughout that time, Hassett performed the duties of a publicist, writer, editor, graphic designer, social media maven and webmaster.

Most recently, Kevin headed up the media relations, website and new media operations for the Boston Breakers of Women’s Professional Soccer (WPS). Prior to returning to Boston, Kevin worked for Florida International University in Miami, serving as the primary media contact for various sports over the course of a five-year period with the Golden Panthers, in addition to being the webmaster for the athletics department’s website, FIUSports.com.

Before moving to Florida, Kevin spent nine months in the Asa S. Bushnell internship program at the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC). There he was the primary media relations contact for the ECAC’s Division I Men’s Hockey league, and coordinated the media efforts for the league’s postseason tournament at the Pepsi Arena in Albany, N.Y.

As a student-athlete, Kevin was a four-year starter for the Western New England College (WNEC) men’s tennis team, and helped the Golden Bears capture their first conference championship in tennis at the 2002 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Tournament. He was named to the GNAC All-Tournament Team in 2001 and 2002.

Kevin graduated cum laude from Western New England. He was named to the 2002 edition of Who’s Who Among Students In American Universities and Colleges and was one of 15 recipients of the Class of 2002 to receive the WNEC Alumni Association’s Skookum Award for excellence. He was also the first student at the College to receive the athletic department’s Media Award for his work as Sports Editor of the student newspaper, The Westerner.
